Pye Brings Caterham Home 2nd in Wet Race
The heavens opened above the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday morning, forcing organisers to cancel Race 1 of the Asia Classic Car Challenge.
With a wet track for Race 2 it was a little concern for Pye Sen Tan who hadn’t raced in a couple of years, and with semi slicks on the Caterham Supersport he was going to have to concentrate extra hard.
Pye had full control of the car from the start, challenging the front runners at turn 1 but having to hold back.
The car seemed to have much more control in these damp conditions and Pye drove a superb race to keep the car on track and finish second in Class and 7th overall.
“It was a hard race in the wet on semi-slicks but lots of fun. Great to be back racing,” said a please Pye who can’t wait until he’s back on the grid for the 2015 Caterham Supersport Asia Series.
