Supersport Championship a tight fight this weekend
This weekend the Caterham Motorsport Championship heads to the Sepang International Circuit for rounds 5 and 6.
All eyes will be on the Supersport class as three drivers will be fighting for the championship lead in class.
Leona Chin will be doing everything in her power to make sure she finishes each race ahead of Halim Mu’Azzam who leads the class by only one point.
Hot on their heels is Sri Lankan Shirendra Lawrence in third place only 9 points behind Halim. Shirendra is used to close battles with both Leona and Halim and could be the deciding driver this weekend.
All championship contenders in the fast 420R class will on track, with Desmond Ng and Azman Yahya fighting for a clear second place in the championship standings and hopefully gaining some ground on class leader Tan Pye Sen who has a comfortable 33 point lead.
Both classes have produced some exciting racing with all drivers attacking at every opportunity. With the high stakes on the line, this weekend will be no exception and you can guarantee there will be some very close fighting on the hot Sepang circuit.
Qualifying starts at 5pm on Friday with race one at 10:40am on Saturday and race two at 9:50am on Sunday.
Entry to Sepang International Circuit is free. Other races this weekend include the Ferrari Challenge, Asia Classic Car Challenge, Mini Challenge and Malaysia Championship Series.
